In case you missed it I am excited to be sharing an upcoming venue with other digital artists that would like to show their work! The details and entry form are located at http://cybernatedartistry.wordpress.com.the deadline is in one week! I hope you’ll consider entering and help show the public how diverse digital art can be!
If you aren’t a digital artist then instead of entering I am asking you to attend! Here is an image of the postcard announcement with all the details:
See you there!
PS – So, after passing out these postcards and publishing the image all over the web it was pointed out to me I have the wrong date printed on there for the reception. Sheesh. If I confused you, my apologies…it is indeed a Friday – the 10th.
I posted earlier this month about the upcoming “Intricate Elements” show that I will be having in Bloomington, Indiana during the month of April. There are so many things going on with/during this show – not the least of which is that I’ll be sharing the gallery space with sculptor Martin Beach! While my digital art will surround you on the walls of the gallery space, Martin’s amazing sculptures will be interwoven through the gallery space as well.
These images of his amazing work are just a small sampling of what he has created. I feel honored to be sharing or artwork at the same venue! In addition to our art there will also be poetry and wine, each paired with certain pieces of art during the opening. I can’t wait!
I hope you will join me for the evening of April 6th, it’s going to be fantastic!
Just needing to take a breather after the last few weeks full of activity. I’ll be back online and blogging by next weekend, so you shouldn’t get too lonely without me in that amount of time. I was going to be responsible and set up auto-posts for the entire week but I’m just too tired to do more than one. I’ll have lots to share with you once I recharge my batteries for a few days! Here’s a few images from the “Mixed Well and Served Fresh” show for you to enjoy in the meantime:
If you wonder what I’ve been doing lately, I’ve been spending lots of time gearing up for this show in Ferndale, Michigan! I plan to having over 50 mandalas and mandala inspired art pieces in my booth for this three day show. I’ll be in booth #123 – pop in and say hello while you are browsing the funky treasures!
Last Friday I posted about the artwork I have hanging in the Hendricks County 4-H Conference Center from now until mid-May. If you live in Indiana and have a chance to stop & view these in person that would be fantastic! As I mentioned in my last post I will also be posting images from that display on the blog so that my non-local blog readers have a chance to get some great deals on art too! Here is a selection of images for today:
All these images are photo/digital art, printed on canvas & gallery wrapped. They have traveled to a few shows and may have some wear on the corners or edges but they still look fantastic hanging on the wall. To take advantage of these great deals before they are gone be sure to e-mail me (my contact info is listed in the “Buy My Art” section at the top/right of the page!).
So, if you’ve read my blog the past week or two I’ve been mentioning my show at the Plainfield Public Library in Plainfield Indiana. I was so excited I announced the date it went up, only to find out I didn’t have all of my artwork available to hang that day! SO, if you stopped by last weekend to take a peek and noticed a big blank area, I thought I’d share with you what was supposed to be there (and was finally hung up Monday afternoon). As it turned out all the missing artwork was digital art, printed on aluminum. A photo of the entire wall space is show about. The triptych pieces on each end of the wall are new, here are some closer images of them.
I really love the way the digital art looks printed on the aluminum! My apologies for the unfinished space if you happened to visit last weekend. If you haven’t visited yet then I encourage you to stop in this coming Sunday, February 20th, for the opening reception. It’s from 1 to 3 p.m. in the afternoon. Stop by to visit, have some delicious snacks, a little conversation and see my new work. I’d be honored to have you attend!
Today included a lot of prep work for a show I’ll be hanging on Friday, photographing some finished work and beginning to assemble one final piece of art after getting it painted over the weekend. I gave my Christmas gift (a cordless drill) a workout today and added hangers/wire to 16 pieces of artwork!
Once I got the hang of using it things sure went a lot faster than the old hammer & screwdriver technique. 🙂 A few of the pieces needed to be framed before I could add the hangers/wires to them, here is a picture of “Igneous” after it was framed.
I have one other piece being professionally framed as well as two new digital triptych pieces being printed on aluminum. At least they will all be ready to hang! All of that will be (knock on wood) ready for pickup and/or delivered Friday morning. Nothing like cutting it close! I totally lost last week and suddenly found myself down to the wire…I really try to avoid putting myself in that spot but it does happen from time to time. But not nearly as much as it used to!
This was the beginning of the assembly, it’s much further along this evening and I hope to have it finished tomorrow. I also finished the large 3-piece mixed media art over the weekend! This morning I had time to take photos of it, I am really excited about how it turned out.
Even though I made it to hang vertically (like at the top of the post) I’ll be hanging it horizontally at the show in Plainfield due to the configuration of the hanging space. I’ve decided it really looks good either way. Be sure to mark your calendar for Sunday, February 20th – that’s when the reception will be for the show! I’ll be posting more details about it in my next post. I’d love to see you there!
