From exercise to photo art!

These images kind of morphed from their original intent into something entirely different! I love when that happens! They began as small magazine clippings that I cut, all to be glued into art journals and used as inspiration for future art compositions. Mostly looking for interesting shapes & lines I also ended up with a lovely variety of colors. As I continued clipping them and piling them on the table I could see how awesome they would look if photographed together. Out came the camera!

I was sure that I’d upload them and then throw them into Photoshop to create some kind amazing digital artwork but the more I looked at them the more I enjoyed them just as they are! So now I’ve got even more motivation to continue with the art journals. Taking photos of the groups of images as well as inspiration from each individual one, a rather accidental form of multitasking. 🙂

What motivates and inspires you?

    1. It’s a fun, ongoing project and it does get you thinking of compositions and colors to try – I hope you enjoy it! I have several journals started at once, that way I can have them laying about in different places to flip through when I need some inspiration.
I agree about the changing seasons, I started a piece today and realized the color scheme had gone totally fall colors! I had to go back in and add a few other colors to it. 🙂
